The Soul Companions Who Walk With Us
I have always loved animals. They seem to teach us more about life in a shorter amount of time than almost anything else. A newborn puppy or kitten enters the world full of innocence, grows into a companion, and within a decade or so they live an entire life cycle right in front of us. Birth, connection, aging, and eventually death. All of it taking place in the span of a single chapter of our own lives.
I have had to say goodbye to three dogs and three cats. None of those moments were easy. Each loss leaves a quiet space inside you that never fully goes away. Yet I truly believe their spirits stay with us. I have felt it again and again. It only requires a bit of openness, a willingness to feel their love still reaching toward us.
Over the years I have noticed something in my sessions that continues to amaze me. Pets often show up as spirit guides. Not always, but far more often than people expect. During a client’s first spirit connection, once they have settled into their safe place, I invite a guide to appear. Sometimes an ancestor steps forward. Sometimes a familiar light being arrives. And sometimes a beloved pet walks in as if they have been waiting for this moment.
When it happens, it always feels special. These animals do not appear just to comfort someone. They often stay for the entire journey. Their energy is steady and loyal. It feels familiar in a deep way that goes beyond words. I have always believed animals have souls, and their presence during these journeys reinforces that for me. They are more than pets. They are companions of the soul. They walk beside us, love us without conditions, and stay connected long after the physical body is gone.
One of the most beautiful things I have witnessed is the same animal soul returning in a new form in later lifetimes. The bond remains. The energy remains. It simply shifts into a new body. What we think of as losing them may be part of a larger story that continues across time.
I often think we come into this life with a small soul group of furry companions. Some stay with us for only a moment. Some for many years. Some find us again and again. Their presence reminds us how to love, how to stay loyal, how to forgive, and how to live simply and fully.
I would love to hear from anyone who has felt this before. Have you ever sensed a deep soul connection with an animal that feels like it has followed you through different parts of your life or even across lifetimes?
