Let’s Talk About Spirit Guides: The Healer (Part 2)

As we continue our series on spirit guides, I want to focus on a guide that plays a very different role from the Guardian—the Healer. While the Guardian is all about protection and ensuring safety, the Healer is deeply involved in the work of mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual healing.

The Guardian ensures you feel grounded and secure as you embark on spiritual journeys like past life exploration. Once that sense of protection is established, we can shift our focus to the Healer. This guide works with healing energy, emotional release, and clearing energy attachments—helping you process pain, trauma, or unresolved issues, and bringing you back into balance and harmony.

One question I often hear from clients is, “Am I just making this up?”

Is the Healer really a spirit guide? Could it be an archetype, or maybe just a part of you? And honestly, maybe it’s a bit of both. For me, it feels like they are both a part of me and something separate at the same time.

The key isn’t to figure this out logically. Instead, it’s about using your intuition to receive whatever comes through. Whether your Healer is an archetype, a reflection of your subconscious, or a distinct spiritual presence, the role remains the same: guiding you through your healing journey.

The best part? You don’t need to be in a deep trance to connect with your Healer. You can reach out to this guide throughout the day using simple, micro-meditations. Need clarity? Visit your safe place or healing place, ask for guidance, and return to your day. It’s that accessible—you don’t need to go deep every time to make this connection.

When I work with clients, I always begin by helping them establish a safe place with their Guardian. Once they feel secure, we move toward discovering a healing place. This could be a temple, a hut, a quiet landscape, or whatever resonates with the client. Whether near or far, it will always align with what the individual needs for healing at that moment.

Once the healing place is identified, I ask the client and their Guardian to journey there together. The Guardian stays to ensure safety while the Healer steps in to begin the healing process. By keeping the concept of the healing place open-ended, we allow the client’s intuition to guide them to where they need to be.

In my personal experience, my healing spaces have shifted over time. They’ve ranged from caves to forests, mystical landscapes, and even places in the spirit realm. As my needs changed, so did the space. Your healing place may also evolve, reflecting your current journey and the healing you need at that moment.

The Healer can appear in many forms—whether as a person, an animal, or even pure energy. Sometimes, the Healer might be a loved one who has passed on or an ancestor. My own Healer is a Native American elder named John. Interestingly, he first appeared to me dressed as a cowboy, which really caught me off guard. That’s when I realized I wasn’t just making this up—it was something beyond my imagination. John can also shapeshift into an eagle, which adds another layer to the guidance he offers. Your Healer may take on a completely different form, but their role is always the same: to guide you with wisdom, care, and insight throughout your healing journey.

Working with both the Guardian and the Healer creates a powerful dynamic. You feel protected while diving into deep healing work. Each guide plays a unique role, helping you navigate your inner world with both safety and transformation in mind.

Tips on Connecting with Your Healer:

  1. Set the Intention: Before you begin, set a clear intention to connect with your Healer for guidance, healing, or support. This primes your unconscious mind for the connection.

  2. Create a Safe Space: Just like with the Guardian, find a safe place in your mind where you feel secure. Once you feel grounded, allow the healing place to appear—whether that’s a temple, a serene landscape, or something else entirely.

  3. Stay Open: Your Healer may appear as a person, an animal, energy, or even a loved one. Don’t overanalyze the form—trust what comes through.

  4. Ask for Healing or Guidance: Once connected, engage in a dialogue with your Healer. Ask what you need for healing, what unresolved emotions need attention, or how to move forward.

  5. Receive a Token: Sometimes, the Healer may offer you a token or symbol of healing—something to take with you as a reminder of their guidance and presence.

  6. Practice Micro-Meditations: You don’t need to be in a deep trance to connect with your Healer. You can use brief, intentional moments throughout the day to visit your healing place, ask for guidance, and return feeling more centered and clear.

Have you connected with your Healer guide? What was your experience like? If you are a therapist, do you have your clients connect with a healing guide? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
